- My
Resume or Job Posting is in a Microsoft Word document.
How do I input it into the text area on the Submit
Resume or Post
a Job form? The easiest way to transfer
your Resume from documentation software such as Microsoft
Word, is to save the document as a text file and copy
and paste the appropriate fields from the text file into
the Submit
Resume form. On a PC, click on the File pulldown menu
and select "Save As...". Under "Save as
type:" select "Text Only" and enter a file
name. Open this file is the Notepad editor and use the
ctrl-c (copy) and ctrl-v (paste) keys to copy and paste
your Resume into the form.

- I
just submitted my Resume or Job Posting. Do I also need
to Submit
a Profile?
No.
Submitting a Candidate Profile or Job Profile is optional
but it does provide you and your potential employers or
candidates with certain benefits. The Profile
Questions
define a set of skills that are applicable to a particular
position. They are similar to the types of questions you
may be asked during a telephone or in-person interview
with an employer. These consistent set of questions can
help you qualify your skillsets against those of the jobs
or candidates you are interested in. By submitting a Profile
as a candidate or as an employer for a job, you can participate
in a Virtual
Interview. Even though gobsofjobs
provides several ways to search such as the DetailedSearch
and the ExpressSearch,
you may overlook a qualified job or candidate. The Virtual
Interview can be used as an additional search approach
or to further qualify jobs or candidates.

- Can
I submit a Profile without submitting my Resume or Job
Posting?
Yes and No. A candidate can submit a Profile
without submitting a Resume, but
an employer must post a job to submit a profile for that
job. If you submit a Candidate Profile without submitting
a Resume, prospective employers will be able to search
and view your answers to the Profile Questions, but they
will not be able to search by your position or industry
or run a Red Flag? after you are returned from a search.

- I
know that I can go on a Virtual Interview to search or
qualify jobs or candidates, but what about my personal
preferences. Are there any qualification services available
on gobsofjobs
for things like salary, relocation, etc.?
Yes. The Red
Flags? will highlight any potential differences in
preferences of the candidate and job such as, industry
sector, position, area code, relocation, salary range,
and degree of travel. This information is entered for
every candidate submitting a resume and for every posted
job. If there are any mismatches in these preferences,
the color coded display will highlight these mismatches
in red. Matching preferences are highlighted in green
and preferences that partially match or may be negotiable
are highlighted in yellow. The Red Flag Analysis is available
on a per candidate or job basis or can be executed against
all saved or displayed jobs or candidates.
